Fried Chana Dal (Gram Dal)


Ingredients:

Split Chana Dal (Gram Dal) – 1 and 1/2 cup
Chilli powder- ½ tsp
Pepper powder- ½ tsp
Amchoor – ½ tsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Black salt – ¼ tsp
Oil for deep frying

Method:

Soak the Chana dal for 4-5 hours. You can also soak it overnight. Strain the water.

Boil 1 litre of water, put the dal in it and take it out immediately in a strainer. Spread it on a cloth and let it dry under the fan.

Deep fry the dal in small quantities on medium heat. If it is heated at high temperature, it may turn brown from outside but remain soft inside. Remove it when it turns light brown. Place it on a tissue paper so that excess oil is absorbed by the paper.

Take the fried dal in a bowl while it is still hot and add chilli powder, pepper powder, amchoor, salt and black salt and mix well. Cool it and store in a jar
